Ponte Cottage was originally a modest house built in the 18th century, rebuilt in the 20th century in its current configuration, where it functioned as a milk collection point for local producers.

One of the most imposing houses on the site, it was acquired by José de Ponte and Maria, who emigrated, leaving their only daughter on the island to continue the legacy of honor.

The house has been in the family for three generations and will endure for many more. This historic house is ideal for families and groups of up to five people. The terrace and garden are spacious, sunny, and offer a wide view of the ocean and agricultural land. The house has 100 m² and comprises three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a reading room, a kitchen, two bathrooms, as well as a terrace and garden with sea views, barbecue, and private parking. The house is equipped with a refrigerator, washing machine, stove, oven, microwave, coffee machine, and other utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, TV with international and children's channels, and other amenities to ensure a pleasant and relaxing stay. LOCATION The house is located in a rural area 366 m above sea level and 2.4 km from the village of Ponta do Sol, where there is a beach and some restaurants and cafes. Ponta do Sol is situated in the southwestern part of the island, which has the best climate conditions in Madeira. A few kilometers away, there are impressive cliffs, mountains, and Laurissilva forest for nature lovers and hikers. The house has access to the main road networks, but some roads are steep and narrow. NOTES From January to April 2025, road works will take place next to the house, which will affect access to parking at the house and may cause noise. A car is recommended for this location.

Free parking is available at the house or on the street. As some roads in Madeira are steep and narrow, smaller vehicles with powerful engines are recommended. Cleaning is carried out before guests arrive, and then a weekly maintenance cleaning is performed, which includes changing bed linen and towels. As it is a rural area, there is potential for noise from dogs and other domestic animals on neighboring properties. Due to the climate, there are also insects and geckos in the rural surroundings, which may be attracted by food scraps.

For those who are not comfortable with the presence of insects and geckos, we do not recommend accommodation in a rural area. An increase in the number of guests implies a price increase of up to 10% per person. CONDITIONS 1.

Parties or behaviors that disturb the peace and well-being of neighbors are not permitted, especially between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM when neighborhood noise is prohibited. 2.

An online check-in form will be sent to collect essential identification data for check-in, arrival time, and mode of transport, which must be submitted by guests at least two days before arrival. 3.

Self check-in with flexible arrival time is available via a key safe whose code is generated and sent on the day of arrival.

For in-person check-in, it is necessary to schedule a time, and the waiting time is 60 minutes, after which a new appointment can be scheduled according to our availability. 4.

Guests may be asked to present identification upon arrival and provide any missing identification data to comply with legal requirements. 5.

Any breakdowns, incidents, or cleaning issues must be reported as soon as they are detected so that they can be checked and addressed promptly during the stay.

Problems reported late with the sole intention of obtaining a refund will not be considered. 6.

Guests must inform about allergies, conditions, or special needs before or immediately after booking to verify compliance and for appropriate measures to be taken.
