The shaker style kitchen is well equipped with all your modern appliances, complete with breakfast bar and stools, there is also a separate toilet.
A large master bedroom with pitched roof and Velux window and kingsize bed, it includes a small dressing room just off the main room with a single bed suitable as a flexible sleeping for a child.
There is a stylish bathroom with freestanding roll-top bath and separate power shower finish off the first floor accommodation.
Out and about Heighington proves to be a good central base for exploring the North East and Yorkshire Dales and being 5 minutes from the A1.
The cathedral city of Durham, a World Heritage Site, can be reached within a 20-minute drive.
Durham is home to many popular tourist attractions including the Lumiere Festival, jazz festival, book week, arts week, the Gala Theatre, castle and cathedral as well as many designer boutiques, shops and with an excellent choice of places to eat and drink.
Within easy reach are Barnard Castle, the North East coast, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Northumberland Coast.
For the outdoor enthusiast, cyclists, ramblers and leisurely walkers will find many walks and cycle paths suitable for all abilities.

Very spacious cottage. Superbly equipped and very clean modern interior. Friendly owners who supplied a lovely welcome pack.
Good location for Durham, Ruby Castle, High Force Waterfall etc.
We did find the road noise intrusive at times but not really surprising given the location.

We spent a lovely week at the cottage over christmas, we had a very warm welcome from Linda very much appreciated all the lovely decorations & gifts we recieved. The cottage is by far the best we have ever stayed in very spacious & furnished to a high standard would highly recommend.
